TOOL FOR HOME BUILDING might be a better place to put this thread unless you're donating the bandsaw for a Tipi Fest raffle

well, I just bought the Grizzly a few months ago. I'm no bandsaw fanatic, but it has done everything I expected of it.
it was the 16" on sale for about 359 or so a while back - rated best of breed by some WW magazine as I remember.
I've never had a problem with a grizzly tool
Boy, are you lucky I openned the fests folder here or you'd have stayed buried with this one by getting in the wrong folder

I've had the 18" Jet for 5 yrs. now...primarily used for resaw... works great. Adjustment with thhumbscrews of bearings a pain, but not a deal-killer. I'd buy it again, if I had to.

UTW,
The only complaint I'v heard about Jet is that they are under powered. That comment was in reference to the 18" though, so maybe the 16" is stronger relative to blade length.
Thanks,
Brad
a 9.6 volt battery operated cordless drill may work just fine in some situations, but not in others. I would guess that if you judge the 18" to be low(er) in power, it would depend upon what you were comparing it to.
I think the blade has a lot to do with it. I use the woodslicer from Highland Hardware. Works like a dream for me."The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a governmental program" -Ronald Reagan
I know a lot of the people over in Knots use bandsaws and have discussed the which is best and how Grizzly stacks up - go over the and run the advanced search for grizzly bandsaw
Ricks,
Where do I find "knots"?
Brad
