baseboard registers with louvres? from the 60’s can’t seem to find them…
I want to replace the baseboard registers with louvres in my house – it is from the 60’s. They are older, dented and don’t look that great. Well, it is a nice thought, but I can’t find them anywhere local for a good price. A store told me he would order them for $50.00!! Too much for me. They are about 2 feet in length
If someone has found an inexpensive source of these, please let me know, — if not, what alternatives are there to replacing them with something else?

Where is local?
You might be looking for air return grills (the 2 ft length suggests that)? They don't neet to be regulated so, I can't believe you are having trouble.
Here, I can find them at an HVC supplier a mile away, or one of any big box or regional lumber year- Carter Lumber. On occasion an HVC distributor is account only, but I can pick up there and order/pay at one of the above.
They're sized different from your tape measurement-get close w/ the length and width of what you have, find the ones that'll work (bigger will work on air return-you just cut the base.

So we know what it is you are looking for would be really helpfull.
Thank you
for all I know, he's talking about baseboard heaters-most have at least one deflector (louvre).
I will take a picture this week and post it. Thanks for the replies.
