Baseboards for wall-to-wall carpeting

When you are installing baseboards in rooms that will get wall-to-wall carpeting, what is the measurement for the gap you leave between the floor and bottom of the baseboard? I am guessing three-quarters, but then I’ve never seen it written anywhere so I am not certain.
Thanks

About 3/8-inch
From what I've seen: Generally 3/8 to 1/2-inch, depending on the thickness of the carpet. The tack board gets left out about 1/2 inch from the face of the base board, then the trimmed carpet edge gets tucked under the base.
No more than 3/8's
or you'll be sure to see some gappage under that base when there's a dip. 1/2" is way too much for berber or other low nap rug. I've been using the butt end of a shim about every 2' - 3- to gauge it.
