The basement I am remodeling (in New Hampshire) has a concrete slab covered with CVT (asbestos?? I’m not sure they are willing to have it abated (not in bad shape). Clients had an interior perimeter drain installed by basement solutions so H20 shouldn’t be an issue. I was debating to wether to (leaving CVT tile in place) 1) Cover with Dri Core & a floating floor on top OR 2) Cover with Ditra and Tile. Building Science recommends 1″ of foam board with 2 layers of plywood….Clients don’t have head room to spare. CLients also asked me about Thermal Floor (marketed by basement solutions) I don’t have any experience with it. Any suggestions or insight would be appreciated.
