What's the purpose of the sealer? To keep the basement dry? Won't work. You need to stop the ewater from getting through the exterior surface. Sealing the inside surface will trap moisture inside the wall.
If the purpose is to make the walls look a little more finished, and keep DW happy, then you better get started.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.
Contractor suggested sealin floor and sidewalk i guess just to keep it from staining and make i easier to clean its not to keep moisture We have drain tile inside and out with sump so I dont know why I am sealing it c
so I dont know why I am sealing it
You must be a newlywed. In your first post you said the wife suggested it be done ...

I thought maybe some one would have an answer,The answer is there, but we like to have some fun, too.BTW, your member profile says your 24, so I'm guessing that your marriage only feels like 27 years.Dude, at 24, that is not a good sign. I suggest full contact marriage counseling.(That was a joke too. May I suggest the "This Old House" forum if it didn't feel that way?)

The answer is there... Drylok (and it is tintable to make the wife happy).
If the house is new (which I am taking a guess at)... no need to seal it... and I wouldn't for about 8-12 months... but that is my opinion and others will disagree with it.
Will you do any damage if you do? Probably not. Will it leak if you don't seal it? Probably not.
If you want to get into it with the wife over the sealing the walls, which will take a few hours and some Drylok (which stinks to high heaven; and she will cuss you for using... as you travel to the hotel to stay for a few days because she can't handle the stink)... go for it. What we are trying to tell you is that the peace with the wife is more important than whether or not you seal the walls right now.
Here is a thought. Take her to Lowes (HD, whatever) and have the paint guy break open a can of Drylok. Have her get a good whiff of it. If she still wants you to seal the walls... do it and get it over with. My bet, however, is that she will want to wait until the walls have cured (which she will instantly become an expert on) and further... until she is away on a "girls vacation" for a week.
If it works... you owe me a beer!
after reading thru ...
then drylock.
and either have the wife there when ya buy it ...
or helping roll it on ...
or leave an empty can or two around making sure she reads the label.
then ... happily ever after ... and all that crap!
btw ... it's tintable ... have her pick the color ... bam ... instant gameroom.
