I know it’s been asked here before but the search isn’t that great to use. I only have @400 sq/ft so cost isn’t a big deal.
I know about Dricore and Delta-fl, but what’s really the easiest basement subfloor for carpet?
Dricore looks so easy, but Delta-fl looks more sturdy.
Do I even need one if we’ve been here 5 years and never once seen water on the concrete?
Can I just glue down a vapor barrier and use the best carpet padding sold and be done with it?

I use the delta fl system alot. I like it. Sometimes the tile sizes are off and it throws everything off when installing,so the full sheet t&g ply with the delta system works best. Use 3/4 fir ply not 5/8. youll have better results.
Hope this helps, Lou
Thanks, I'll check it out.
Do a search for "no-mold finished basement " ( FHB 169 March 2005) on this forum. I used this method 2 years ago and it was easy and fast.
I just had to rip out the carpet and padding in the finished part of our basement due to water from the Nor'easter we had here in NH last month.
I'm toying with the idea of using the interlocking carpet-covered foam squares. Similar to the foam sections you can find at the big box stores, these have 5/8 foam with indoor/outdoor carpet on the surface.
This is one source: http://www.softnsafefloors.com/index.htm
Looks like $3.50-4.00 per sqare foot, so it's a bit pricey, but the nice thing is that if it gets wet, you can pull it out, clean & dry, then reinstall.
Anyone have any comments about this approach or good sources?
