Does anybody know the typical size for a bathroom vent fan duct? Would that be 4″ or 6″?
Thanks,
Musashi

3 or 4 inches, I believe, depending on the size of the unit.
4 & 6" around here, but depends on the cfm's of the fan, the length of the duct, size of the bathroom .. best to pick the fan first ..
ps I'm a fan of panasonic units, they're sweet ..
Your basic Broan 50cfm fan will be 3".

I recently bought a Broan Ultra Silent fan that accepts 6" and comes with a reducer to 4"--instructions say the CFM rating goes down to 130 from 140 with 4", but I went with 4" since I'm going through the rim joist and didn't want to take out that much material. Bigger the better I would think, though, I'd have gone with 6" if I could have.
