Battery Tab Welding (rebuilding battery)
I’ve been thinking of trying to start a little side business rebuilding cordless tool batteries. Has anyone ever rebuilt their own batteries? I saw a few videos of companies who use a welder to spot weld battery cells together. There are tons of articles online on how to build your own welder as well. Anyone ever have any luck with this? I have a shop where I could do it and if it was lucrative enough I’d consider buying the spot welder. I’d love to hear other peoples thoughts on this.

The stainless tabs are easy to weld. Cu is difficult to spot weld.
Keys are clean surfaces and high pressure.
Never have bought a new power tool battery (heck, dont think I have ever even bought a new power tool since before batt power days). If you can find a source, the Russian NiCds were always best, do not have a source now since the local aerospace surplus closed.
use glue instead...
