Wolverine makes a good product. It is available non-vented and vented, and the vented does not appear any different than the non-vented. Any roofing or siding supply that carries Wolverine should be able to get it.
*Certainteed also makes a beaded vinyl soffit for porches. The Certainteed and Wolverine products may be identical. In the Baltimore - Washington area the Roof Center carries Certainteed. The Certainteed web site may list more distributors. Someone else makes a panel with 4" wide boards with a bead on a 8" wide panel, it seemed a bit more ridged than the Certainteed product. I'll try to find the info for you
*I just bought 60 pieces of the Certainteed stuff. They are 6" reveal panels (2" beads x3) and are 12' long. This is after studying all options for cost and appearance and finally settle on this product.(Free delivery and friendly service by the local supplier didn't hurt.)Nice looking but I'm afraid the "vinyl" look will show because I have to use the J-channels around the porch perimeter and porch ceiling lights. And I have to use the channels along one line where the panels have to meet end-to-end where the two parts of the L shaped porch intersect.Plus there are four steel support posts I have to work around....Proper intallation of the channels is turning out to be quite the puzzle and the hardest part of the project for a vinyl novice such as myself.
*Alan, There are J channels available from several mfrs. that have the look of quarter round trim. This works nice on the perimeter, and doesn't have that flat J-channel look. The miters are a little fussy, but well worth the effort.John
*Wolverine Beaded soffit, when I last bought it, was 5.69 per panel. Each panel is only 6" wide (as opposed to standard 12" panels) and they come one square to the box. I believe that would be 16 panels to the square. Now bear in mind that I bought this soffit as part of a large order so my price is probably a good deal cheaper.Pete Draganic
*Alcoa gets my vote..we've been using perforated and vented soffit for about twenty years.. the new Pro-Bead soffit /wainscot is the most attractive one we've found..it's an 8 inch panel with a four inch pattern and the vent is hidden in the grooves of the 4 inch bead...another great feature is the it's only 3/8 inch thick in profile and the decorative j-mold is only 5/8 thick x 1.5 wide..so we have a little more room to get a reveal at the inside edge of the fascia
*I agree with Mike. The pro bead looks nice and is easy to work.Vince
*Thanks, John -That's a good idea.Let me see what's available in this area, or maybe I overlooked it in Certainteed's offerings.
*I have used the Certain Teed/ Wolverine Restoration beaded soffit and was i very happy with the appearance of the finished product. As stated above it comes in vented and "Invisivent" flavors. Two things to be aware of: 1) the profile of the material is thinner than normal vinyl soffit, and therefor does not really fit correctly in standard vinyl 'J' and 'F' channel. 2) If you carefully review the "architectural specifications" (accessed from the above referenced web page) you will see that the volume of ventilation delivered is not that great.

Alcoa makes an 8" Beaded panel both vented and non vented which I try to sell, I like the finished look better than Wolverine/C'teed. Alcoa also carries their Designer Trim J channel that really makes a nice finish.
