Sherwin Williams states on the side of the can that the Duration paint can be used as a primer-paint for some applications. It's nice paint, but a little pricey.

I'll check it out. I'm no big fan of Behr, discontinued using it for awhile when painting interior doors. Wouldn't stick, like painting a greased surface. Swithed to another brand and had no problem. Tried it again recently, mainly because HD is so close by, and it went on nicely.
I had the same results - poor adhesion. Give me Pratt and Lambert or Sherwin Williams. I will not waste my time with Behr.
P&L adheres so well, it is hard to get it off your brush!;)

"I meant record. I'm on the laptop tonight - which has a female C key. Sometimes she ain't all there"If your C key is a female, I'd posit that she is exercising a passive aggressive tendency to not want to be there for you at all.
You use that pass agg term a lotWanna define it?And keep good humour in mind

Yeah, good ole passive aggressive behavior. Its a trait we all have in degree or another, crazy people do it all the time for reasons you or I cannot discern, thus causing constant consternation for us regular folks. The tendency by those who may fear conflict or its results, of getting needs met (however arbitrary) by engaging in subtle forms of subterfuge or sabotage. 'Needs' as defined by a broad spectrum, including "I need to get the hell out of here." or "I need to kill that sumabitch" or "I need to get twenty dollars out of him without getting him mad."Classically a power play/rebellion utilized by those who may be in or feel they are in a situation where they have no power to enter into conflict with another. Thus, once upon a time and I imagine still often enough, a behavior widely associated with women.
I'll have to behr that in mind.
I do not mean to prescribe rules to strong and valiant natures, who will mind their own affairs whether in heaven or hell, and perchance build more magnificently and spend more lavishly than the richest, without ever impoverishing themselves, not knowing how they live — if, indeed, there are any such, as has been dreamed; nor to those who find their encouragement and inspiration in precisely the present condition of things, and cherish it with the fondness and enthusiasm of lovers — and, to some extent, I reckon myself in this number; I do not speak to those who are well employed, in whatever circumstances, and they know whether they are well employed or not; — but mainly to the mass of men who are discontented, and idly complaining of the hardness of their lot or of the times, when they might improve them.

<em>"I'll have to behr that in mind.<em/><<snicker>>I guess consumer reports didn't use the same plant that made the lots I used when I painted walls white with it, used glidden ceiling paint and I thought I'd spend the rest of my life trying to cover my poor cutting in on ceiling edges. The Glidden kept bleeding through. After about five coats the Behr finally covered enough to pass. I concluded at that point that unless I'm getting about $90 an hour, Behr won't be my next choice for paint.
Oh, how can we ever Behr that kind of humour?!This is starting to sound like a Geiko add!

speaking of behr...
I also have in my mind that seemingly wealthy, but most terribly impoverished class of all, who have accumulated dross, but know not how to use it, or get rid of it, and thus have forged their own golden or silver fetters.

Of the paints I've used Behr has got to be the worse for coverage, exterior and interior. But then I am not a painter, I just end up painting small things for customers here and there.
I just bought a gallon, will let you know how it works. the rebate is mail in, what a rip off.
Seems like the stuff (Behr paint) is, I dunno, slippery comes to mind. My own preference these days is for Benjamin-Moore, although I may switch to Sherwin Williams since my old Benjamin-Moore dealer either went out of business or relocated somewhere that I've not found.
I have always had good results with Behr. Interestingly recently Consumer Reports did a review of a dozen different interior paints - Behr came out as their top rated performer. I think I remember a review in CR that Behr exterior was also top rated.
Because if their past reputation of making good stains, I thought Behr paints would be good.
Experience using them on several Habitat for Humanity projects proved otherwise. Behr semigloss topcoat hides so poorly that it takes three coats to hide on pre-primed doors that had been patched and spot primed with white primer.
Consumer reports rated their products way down the list for durability, weathering and color retention.
