Was stapling sidewall shingles in our entry yesterday and must have dropped the effin’ gun about 15 times. Too much fumbling with shingles, level, hammer, etc…Dented the door, broke the hose extension…major frustration. And I’m about to start hanging Hardi from ladders and will no doubt face the same issues.
Does anyone know of a good belt hook or ladder hook solution for nailers and staplers? (Mine are Bostich)
Thanks.

Don't know of a hook but I think someone makes them that attach around the air coupling.
I was going to comment on "hanging Hardi from ladders".
Will you be doing this alone? If so, it will be handy to use (or make) one of the several types of hooks that holds one end while you nail in the other. Malco makes a couple different styles also Solo sider.
I've done quite a bit of Hardi and at this point have a pretty efficient system down. I wouldn't do it from ladders. I like a plank/pic to walk on. That said, although I haven't used one, I see the Malco fiber cement shear is only a little over two bills. I'd take a serious look at that.

Yup, I have the PacTool guages. Makes solo hanging almost enjoyable.

I've got a set of ladder jacks that I may use. We'll see. It'll depend on how crazy I go moving the ladder back and forth.

Yup, I have that too. Good tool that can be used with cordless or corded (I stick with corded). I've found I need nothing other than it and a jigsaw with a Hitachi FC blade.
Thanks,
Scott.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I meant the new (at least I think it's new) guillotine type shear, not the mechanical sissors type shear.
It doesn't matter anyway. It sounds like you have a system that works for you. Have fun, hope you find a hook or make one.

i use the big lug when i am working and need both hands free at times and need a convient place to hold a heavy tool, it works ok, but it puts a lot of weight on your belt
All I found that Big Lugg was good for was hanging ME up on things!
I like the bungee/ball system too
Dunno about Bostitch; my siding nailer is Makita and it has a nice big hook on it that's easy to stick in a hammer ring on my belt.
Thanks guys....I might be able to rig something up.
Second the Bigg Lugg stuff
I'll second the bigg lugg, but like the bungee ball system better then the hook.
You can cut the belt hook part off the reciever, and attach it to a ladder or scaffold, with a couple of screws. Or, use the one they make for ladders.

I saw those on Amazon. They look like the bees knees....can adapt to just about any tool.
Thx.
Check with Fastenal or whatever speciality suppliers you might have around. The ones around here carry some after market clips that will screw on between the air inlet & the gun.
Good tip, there's a Fastenall here (believe it or not....this is the boonies.)
