I have a project to make a siphon for emptying the gas tank in my boat and I plan to use a piece of PEX as the dip tube. It would help if I could put a permanent 90° bend in one end. Can I put a 90 in PEX by applying heat from a heat gun?

Do you have a crimping tool, crimp rings and a 90?
Pex doesn't like heat.
Heat just returns it to the original shape.
I empty my boat tank for winter storage thru the engine fuel supply line and an electric fuel pump. I even filtered it thru the RACOR. Keep the bow high sending most of the fuel to the rear of the tank. Beyond that if you need to repair deeper pull the fuel sender to get right to the bottom.
I'm sure you know NOT to use a shop vac. :-)
How about bending PVC and attaching a hose to it??
