Best flashing for replacement patio doors
I have seen older posts recommending Bituthane as the best product for flashing before installing windows. I am about to begin to replace many sets of north facing patio doors and wanted to know what might be the best product to apply to the rough opening prior to inserting the replacement doors.
Thanks in advance

To explain this w/o pictures is pretty damn hard. Thinking like water is too damn simple.
Here's a book offer (you can find it at JLC and maybe Taunton's bookstore, perhaps the library)

Back issues of FHB or JLC may have included a simplified version (I know I've seen it b/4 by the author).
Mike Slogatt, a presenter at JLC Shows (and at KatzRoadShows) does an excellent job showing proper techniques. You might search for him with that subject title.
The key is preventing water from entering, and allowing a way of exit if it should. This is acheived by a pan install (tipped if you form one with a vicor product using a length of beveled siding to provide the slope).
Depends on the material
Bituminous products have now been rated incompatible with thevinyl materials
