Best framing detail on a slab-on grade?
Hi all,
trying to come up with the best framing detail for a framed wall on a slab on grade addition. The slab itself will be raised a foot or so off of existing grade, but final grade will be feathered to cover the thickened edge. (Alaskan slab style)
The area is in the northeast and is subject to wet weather. I am obiviously using pt sill , and z flashing from outside slab, under plywood, and up framed wall. Is there other water detail management that can be taken? Is it not good to use pt plywood for first course off the ground? I am also wondering if apart from lots of caulk, is there a better way to manage the door that will be installed on the slab
Thanks

Let the sill overhang
The detail I like best for slab on grade, is to let the PT sill plate, (and thus the exterior, and drainage curtain), overhang the concrete by about a 1/4-inch. Keep the surrounding soil down at least a few inches, so the water has some where to go. Run the siding down to about a 1/4-inch below slab grade.
For entries, I like a concrete landing dropped about four-inches below the slab on the exterior, and then screw/caulk the door sill to the slab.
