What is the best way to get a positive leak free joint where you install end caps, mitre corners and drop outlets in seamless gutters.
The method I been taught is fit the pieces together, drill holes, then use lots of silicone, join and pop rivet. I’ve done this and I STILL get leaks at times. I want to make my joints more durable and higher quality if such a method exists.

silicone hardens and breaks bind with metal under the stress of thermal expansion/contraction. A flexible caulk like geocell is better.

No silicone.
Like many others, I use a product which is called "Gutter Rubber" - available as a caulk gun sized tubes or a toothpaste sized tube at the local roofing supply house.
At least on an appearance basis, the same product is available at HD - called "SeamerMate". Caulk gun or small toothpaste sized tubes. Seems to be the same stuff.
Both are a sparkle-y silver gray in appearance when wet, somewhat self leveling, "toolable" with a wet finger, skin over pretty quickly, are v-e-r-y stretchy when cured and form a very good bond on a clean dry surface. Clean up with mineral spirits.
I find the toothpaste sized tubes are more convenient to maneuver with the gutter already in place.
