I’m replacing some old time 4 inch half round galvanized gutter and would appreciated any tips on the best tools to use as far as soldering equipment and where to find it. I’ve seen heavy duty electric irons but am not sure how high a wattage you need to get the job done or if propane fired irons are a better solution. Also any suggestions or comments would be helpful

Tools in order of importance:
a. wire brush
b. "sandpaper"
c. clamps
d. acid flux
e. practice
f. 500 W iron with 1 inch tip min.(Grainger)
g. optional to f -- open flame propane torch and more practice and good fire insurance
h. 40/60 solder
I thought "old time" galvanized gutter was an oxymoron due to fast rustout in some areas, sure you don't have lead plated copper?, then 50/50.
