I have a situation where I have 5 closets lining a wall in a hallway. The door openings are all 5’0 w/ the exception of one that is 6’0 (i.e. will fit 2 2’4″ doors and 2 3’0 doors).
The hallway is 4’1″. I would like to be able to open a door and not have it take up the whole hallway.
Standard bi-fold doors w/ a raised panel pattern (I think) would look super busy on that wall.
Anyone know of a bi-fold door that has a raised panel pattern on 2 doors (i.e. the panel splits between doors)?
Thanks in advance!

I'm confused - if using typical bifold doors a 5/0 (60") opening will be filled by 4 doors (2 pairs) each of which will be approximately 1/3 (15") wide.
The 6/0 opening would be filled by 4 doors each of which would be approximately 18" wide.
When the 5/0 doors are open they will protrude into the hallway by roughly 12-13". ( Depends on the jamb thickness and hardware chosen.)
In either case, when closed, one pair of doors will give the general appearance of a 6 panel door - 2 pairs mounted in an opening gives the general appearance of a pair of 6 panel french doors.
I think you want to know if the panels will make the hallway look busy - yes.
Have you looked at any flat doors - no raised panels? I think, I personally would prefer the busy-ness of the panels to the flat of the slab doors.
>Anyone know of a bi-fold door that has a raised panel pattern on 2 doors (i.e. the panel splits between doors)?< Does this mean if you were to look at an individual door you would see a "half panel" on either the left or right and a stile on the opposite side? Producing the general appearance of a 3 panel door when closed in a pair? If so, the answer is no - have never seen a door configured this way.

Never underestimate the value of a sharp pencil or good light.
Not sure what you mean about the panel door style - sounds like you want a panel door that doesn't look like apanel door.
I think that Johnson hardware has a bifold system that would let doors fold back against the wall further than typical for a situation like this.

sliding doors?
What about doors that pivot open and then slide into the side area of the closet like on an entertainment center?

If you want that flush and panel configuration, you could buy equal sets of each, take them apart, and re-assemble to your pattern.
Your 5/0 openings will hold 2 2/6 bifolds...unless you're looking for some extra ventilation<G>
You could start with just a flat door and add some trim, treating each side as a single unit when laying the trim out, but then cutting the trim at the break.
If you do it really good, there will be the illusion that each openning has two doors in it instead of four.
