A freind of mine is a manager at a big box and has asked me to become an installer for them. Have any of you done any of this or had any experience with it? I’m not really sure how I feel because I refuse to work in the city (ghetto type areas). I also had an experience with Sears 10 years ago and they hold 10% for a year, however, I never saw that 10%, 365 days later. If anyone can offer input, I would appreciate the advice..
Thanks,
Dustin

if you NEED the work....
go back to work for Sears..
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
Try a search. Thsi has been discussed before. Try the business folder.
Do I need the work? Sort of. Do I want the work? Not really. Do I trust the environment the work comes from and the mentality and education that goes with supplying the work? No. I know that these stores are frowned upon here and although it's usually the quickest way for me to get this or that, I find myself in there a few times a week. With that said, the "We Install" part irks me too because it creates competition that otherwise wouldn't be there. The response I'm asking about is for anyone who may have worked with them to detail experiences that were good or bad. Do I succumb to the man and be their bitch, which is the way I see it because they hold the cards??? Or do they give you leniency seeing as though their sales team probably has never done more than change lightbulbs. I don't know, that's why I'm posting.
Thanks,
Dustin
It seems you already answered your own question ("not really"," no", "irks me", "bitch"...), but you still need so many reassurances from us.
From past threads, most subs' experiences weren't very good to say the least, plenty of details in the archives
