BITS – Where are the hex drive assortments??
Not much choice at HD.
Some years ago they were selling a little plastic bit holder populated with 1-3 Phillips, 1-3 Square, 1-3 Flat in hex detent pattern. Ran about $5. Had loops for your belt. They were great! They had most every bit I use during the day in one handy holder.
Bought a number of them. Had I a clue, I would have bought a dozen. Not seen of late. Went looking for something similar today. No luck.
Anyone come across something like this out on the web?
Anyone make plastic holders for bits, so I can mix and match?
Hot glued a Makitia cordura/velcro bit holder to my Pocket Driver after work. We will see how that works out. The sticky velcro will not do a tight radius.

Could not find it on web site but local Lowes had a Bosch pouch with a bunch of bits and holder for under $10 had been about $13. Already threw away the pack and too lazy to go out and count but it had at least 6 or 8 #2 phillips, several straight, some square, some of the longer 1 1/2" or so and fold up pouch with belt loop. I have another one of them somewhere.
Was in True value and they had a monthly special with a B&D 77 piece set for under $8. Some worthy of putting in box, some worthy of putting in sack to take to daughter's so I will have something for Daddy-do's.

Lowes also had a set of DW bits in three little containers. HD has had some pretty good sets of DW in the nifty drill box, the yellow one with movable dividers, not the big black thing that I have been sucked into buying before.
This one was a little pricey at 20 but looked like a decent set.

Will do. See if I can upload OK. Trick is finding the Makita bit holder. Outlet Supply in Atascadero, CA is the only place I have seen them.
It worked fine this week. For a quick change, the old bit is stuck on the magnet. For a longer change, it goes in the vacant bit holder spot.
Will have to try Lowes tomorrow. They often have a different take and stuff that HD won't have. The ToolBear

Wish me luck. I am posting photo of the driver, as requested.
Looked OK in preview. I shrunk it from X megs.
Just when you think you have the needed bits...
Today I had four dead floods under the eves, each cover secured with SS screws requiring a 3/32 hex driver. Had to dump out a bag of bits and paw. I had purchased a strip of hex drivers from a hardware clearance sale and one of them was 3/32.

That's the idea. Tnx for the URL.
I find that hot glue does wonders. Wonder if it would stick to that stuff.

hey, I got that set and the freakin' latch broke!
Don't know why they include all those little stubbybits in there tho'. when in doubt add garlic
Not sure you would be interested in this but I bought three really nice mag 6 inch nutdrivers 1/4 - 5/16 - 3/8 at Fastenall
My local fastener place always seems to have a few odd-ball kits of insert bits available --i.e. an assortment of various bits (including nut drivers) in a tidy plastic holder.I can't remember that I have seen one with a belt clip, but they are always small enough that they could be carried in your pouch.
So, if you can't find what you want at a HC, I'd try one of your local outlets for industrial fasteners.

Someone at work just bought a Crapsman tool kit that had the little plastic holder with the 6 bit assortment. Maybe Sears has that as an individual item.
Sears is a thought. They had a version of the MegaPro 15-1 screwdriver in their catalog, and this is not a common tool.
My NorthWet ToolBear was able to go to his truck and produce both the Sears version and a MP. That's why he is a ToolBear. Most would have no idea what I was asking about. He has two samples on hand. I have gotten two and will order more. Make nice gifts, but these are for me. The ToolBear

Yes, there is an old industrial hardware store by the HD here. I will hit them tomorrow and see what I can find. Lowes was a washout. HD likewise. The ToolBear

Bought a small B&D set at Walmart for around $5, took out the crummy bits and put in good ones that I use. The set was small enough to fit in a pants pocket along with the little Bosch driver, keys, and pocketknife. Just find a set which has the right number of bits, and refill.
Hope this helps. Rich.

How about this one from Garret Wade. Just got it in a mail message.

Got a Lowe's circular in the paper that has a Bosch Screwdriver Bit Clip for $11.67. It says the bits come out to $.86 a piece, which comes out to a little less than 14 bits. The item number is 239007, but I can't get the Lowe's website to pull it up. Went through the online circular and found it. If this link doesn't work I saved the pic and can post that later. Doesn't look like it's an assortment, but the clip looked like what you were talking about.
