I’m the owner/president of my small LLC remodeling firm and am considering using/getting a company credit card for business related purchases that accumulates airline mileage. I value the range and depth of experiences from the members of the board here and would appreciate it if folks would weigh in on my questions from their perspectives.
The question I have is if anybody has any experience with this and is this possible and or reccomended. Any pitfalls, things I should watch out for? Any recommended cards? Are you limited to one airline?
Thanks
BjR

I use Capital One because they will let you redeem your miles for cash which works better for me.
do you use it exclusively for your buisness?

Yes, everywhere that accepts credit cards where I dont already have a business account. I also have a personal card from Cap. One.

I have a Chase Business Visa card. I get 3% back on every purchase at home improvement stores. I don't need ariline miles, but I sure am looking forward to that refund check at the end of the year.

i have a USAA Visa with Eagle Points ( good for airline miles among other things )
i use it anyplace we do not have a corporate account
i use it only for company purchases and do not intermingle funds or goods
other than that i know nothing
you have to watch out for limits... as far as how much they will refund or bonus to you... in some years it's not hard for me to charge over 500k so i look hard...
I'll also open a new account when they offer 10% off your first purchase and 12mo no interest... if i'm going to purchase 10-20k that day it's well worth it... just have to watch and make sure you make the required payments so as not to lose the "deal"
everyday i get a different offer so i look at em all... I don't think there is a one size fits all...
anytime i can save 1-2% it's something i look for... on top of that I ask for discounts if it's a large purchase and it's between paying on a credit card and paying cash/check any merchant should give you 2% because thats what the banks charge them to take a credit card...
anything you save $$ wise is money you don't have to make...

I use the Capital One Business Platinum No Hassle Miles card also. It's a good, easy to get card. You can use your points for miles, cash or merchandise cards. I think it's only 1% rewards though.
As mentioned by DonCanDo , the Chase Business Card looks like a really good deal as far as 3% back for home improvement purchases. Might be worth a look: http://www.chase.com/ccp/index.jsp?pg_name=ccpmapp/card_acquisitions/unsolicited/page/PFSCreditCardDetails&sourcecode=64FT
I have a boatload of miles on USAir, Delta & United. It's getting harder - and more costly - to use the miles. More blackout dates, more miles required to travel, less available seats on flights and some cases restrictions on the seats; i.e. all that's available are middle row seats. I've switched to cash back/free gas CC's.
