Oops! The other day I was working off a dormer roof that was standing seam. My regular shoes were wet, so I was wearing black soled shoes. Didn’t realize ’til too late. Anybody know how to get marks off or is the finished ruined? Appreciate any help, bad for business to make more of a mess when you’re supposed to be improving the home.
Thanks

This is not much of an answer, but will move you up the list so others can respond. Since the marks are "rubber" rubbed off from your shoes, maybe some solvent like "Goof-off" or "Goo-Gone" may work. Or any solvent that works to remove tar? In a pinch, I would try lacquer thinner (try all of these in a place not readily seen before using eleswhere). Lacquer thinner seems to be almsot the Universal Solvent--works at least a little on most things and isn't real nasty like MEK and some of the others. Also WD-40 may take it off. It's sometimes surprising what works--I have great luck taking oil paint off my skin with just vegetable oil.
Maybe contact a janitorial supply place and ask what they sell to take shoe marks off of composite tile or vinyl floors--that should work. Maybe just a floor cleaner or TSP would remove it.
I bet Billy Mayes has a product like oxyclean for that. (G)
Cut an orange in half, rub on marks, rinse with water. works every time.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll sleep better tonight if I at least have a plan.
There are few marks I have found that don't wipe right off with a rag full of denatured alcohol, even pencil on painted walls
