Blending in to existing Hardwood Floorin
Is it possible to blend in new hardwood flooring in to an existing floor. I want to extend a hallway into a new addition with the same type of floorong 2 1/4 Oak.
The old floor has all square factory ends T@G . What I want to do is cut out every second board from the existing so that I don’t have a staight line across the halway where the old meets the new. It is no problem to remove pieces of the old floor up to 3 feet long but my worry is am I going to be able to drive new pieces up between ever second strip to give a blended look.

I have done this before. The replacement flooring has to be the same size and thickness as the existing flooring. I used a router and chisel to remove the existing flooring. I then slid the new flooring in from the side. Then I installed as many flooring staples as I could on the exposed tounge and groove. I also used a router bit to make a goove on some of the existing pieces.Good Luck
I think I would make the joint a decorative element rather than trying to create a smooth splice. Maybe something like a wide three board threshold with walnut, oak, walnut, something wide enough for a clear visual separation between the new and old floors. This would save you the work of finding or making boards of exactly the same size, as well as the work of finishing to new and old flooring to a harmonious color match.
