Anybody built their own blower door?
Any quick tricks to share??
What did you use for calibration and instrumentation?
Or, a blower window would seem easier?
Thanks.

seems making the blower door would be easy - what do you use to find the air leaks?
"Or, a blower window would seem easier?"
I think one reason it is a door is because most houses have a door that is very close to a particular dimension. A blower door does not have to accommodate too much variation.
A blower window would have to fit into a wide variety of dimensions.

for 500 beans - Hey, I'd look in the old fluids eng. book, make a couple of pitot tubes, screw a old furnace squirrel cage to a hacked out hole in a door and do it for somebody else myself for that <G> (maybe not if Lima beans)
One of the reasons I asked originally was that in Spfld IL, (Moms home town), City water light and power will come out and do the test TWICE for $20 (once before you fix stuff up, afterwards to see how well you did) Quite a good deal, never been in town there long enough to take advantage of the deal .
The orig post was just to see if there were any hidden tricks, clever impelmentations, etc.
Boy, Rez's bump got more responses in a couple of hours than the OP did in a month!

Our power company south carolina electric and gas will not do that for $20 , but then they are not too much into energy conservation, other than "turn down your thermostate in winter advice
