It’s me again…
I attached a very crude drawing – please forgive me for not using engineering symbols.
Wanted to check on what seems to be unorthodox piping on our Burnham gas boiler which was swapped in place of a oil boiler in 1989.
Looks like some of the original piping and steel compression tank was retained.
Where I think only a pressure relief valve should be for the boiler, the freshwater line is tapped into it as well as the line leading up to the steel compression tank.
Not shown in the drawing is the return line for the basement loop, which is hooked into the fill line just before it reaches the boiler.
This is being eliminated and I am connecting it to the proper return line that serves the main floor loop.
(If you recognize me from other posts, I’m in the process of eliminating some under-slab piping that corroded and sprung leaks.)
I have to tackle things in stages as I add shutoff ball valves for ease of servicing and modifications in the future.
Wanted to try here first before heading over to The Wall.
Breaktime is my default page.
Thanks,
Alan
