Hello all,
Just curious… I see articles all the time in magazines and in books about all these nice modifications to the more unusual homes. Or homes of larger square footage. But I never seem to see articles written about making modifications and/or additions to the common raised ranch. For instance, I have a rather common 24 x 44 raised ranch that I would like to add on a 2 story garage to. It would seem to me that this might be a fairly popular type of addition to a type of home that is owned by tens of thousands of families in the USA.
Does anyone know of any books or articles in Fine Homebuilding or anywhere else which address this type of modification. That is….modifying the common ranch or raised ranch?
TIA,
Terry Sumner

Go to the library and just start going through the title on Remodeling.
I have a Time Life book "Adding On".
And the Taunton "Fine Homebuilding on Remodeling" about 1/2 of the projects are similar to the amount of effort that you are talking about.
