borescope experience, recommendation?
One of the tools I’ve never had is a borescope. Thought of getting one for things like checking out plumbing from the inside, inside of engine cyclinder without removing head, wire routing in walls, etc.
Anybody got one of these, what type, recommendations, any good surplus sites for these other than ebay????

I have one,got it at a Gun shop[sporting goods may have em too]. May not be as bright as you'd like, though.
I've seen them as medical equipment surplus.
given the places it could have been used, I'm not so sure I would want from a med surplus store...
Harbor Freight and northern tool .com have a flexible fiber optic scope for looking in walls etc. , it claims to fit in a spark plug hole if I remember correctly. It may be too big for a gun barrel but I am not sure. I think they sell for around 175-200, not cheap. I want one but have not had a good enough excuse to buy one.
Just saw one in the Garrett Wade Tool catalog, Pro Vision 618 has fiber optic light 1/4" hole, 18" or 36" length for $300 and $380. Sounds great but hard to justify that cost.
