Bottom of my 12v Bosch Impact driver 23612 has a decal that says Use with ‘BAT045 battery’
and seeing I’m wanting to buy a 12v Bosch drill/driver 32612 kit with batteries model BAT043
to be able to swap over batteries.
So I’m wondering with the 043 and 045 if, tho’ looking the same, there might be a reason they won’t be compatible with each other and be able to be used in both drills.
Anyone know?
Thanks

The Bosch website is pretty useless, the 23612 brochure says it ships with two 049 batts (9.6v) and says something about 18v, the batt list does not even show a 046 like the manual says (use batts 043-046), I think they mean 045.
I believe the only difference is that the 043's are 1.4ah instead of 2.0
The 12v drill shows the same 043-046 batts that the impact shows.
They should work but won't have the staying power (but should be lighter).
I see. That makes sense. Thanks
Will the 14.4v 2.0 Ah Batteries - BAT040 from their drill kit be able to be used in the 12v Impact?

When I first got mine I called their CS people and the gal told me you could go one size either way IIRC. Seems like she said do not put real heavy load on it though.
I do that with my DW stuff (12 in 14, vice versa).
I edited mid stream in the other post..

So I should be able to get the 14.4 drill kit and interchange the batteries to the 12v Impact then?
and forget the idea of using the 12v in the 14.4 drill.
Thanks again.

I don't have any of the new generation 12 v bosch but all the stuff I have is not battery interchangeable 9.6 14.4 and 18v
The older #s batteries are old style and are replaced with the blue core style.
The 9.6s I have were? like bat 048 then 049 then went to the blue core to bat 100, and it seems to be a way better battery.
What the hey did I write there?

Like I said I don't have 12 volt but was just out looking at 9.6,14.4 and 18v and they all have the same ? stem but the bases of the batteries are all different.
So I doubt that the 14.4 and 12 are inter changeable, but just a guess.
The batteries have a ridge/key that varies in location from one to the other. Not recommended by mfr but a small cut with a knife/file will change it. Discrete cutting in the drill battery well will fix it. Bye bye warranty though probably.
Would not try to run my 12v off 18 or 24 but one either way should not hurt.
