Has anyone seen the recall on the Bosch CS-20 circular saw? I was out shopping the other night for a new saw and really liked the review this got in the Dec. (?) issue of FHB, but when I got to Blowes it was listed on the recall list because of the blade guard not operating properly.
Any thoughts?

Most of the ones on the shelf at Lowes should be fine. This was a problem a while ago. I bought my brother one about six months ago for his new house. I checked the serial number, and it was not affected.

Thanks for getting back. I just bought it at HD. $129.00 less 10% because it was 10% off online and they didn't have it on line. I just called the recall number and its good to go.
Thanks again.
I have one and and very happy with it.
True about the recall, it was some time back.
I bought the Bosch based on the FHB review and returned it the next day. It had pretty good balance and feel, but the composite plate flexed some and felt flimsy. I bought the Milwaukee instead and am quite pleased.
Thats the only complaint I have with mine. I use my cs20 mainly for cutting sheet stock and it took a little getting use to. Now I just remember to twist my wrist just a little and its no problem.
As far as the recall, mine was affected but the fix was simple, just a shorter spring and mine never caused a problem anyhow.
I should have listened to you and bought the Milwaukee. I used the Bosch this weekend to cut some 2 x 10's for my deck this weekend. And guess what.... the little plastic locking "mechanism" to set the blade depth broke half way through the process.
Now it goes back, and I'll buy the Milwaukee.
Wedge the guard up like a pro and the recall is not an issue. Just Kidding OSHA!
Called Bosch yesterday afternoon. They were very helpful. They actually told me that they have redesigned that piece and if I wanted they would send me a new saw and I could return the broken one, they could send me the piece and I could replace it myself, or I could just return it to HD and get a new one. I chose to return it to a new HD and get the new one right away. It seems that the lever on my broken one was faulty and stripped when I got it.
