I’ve got one of the newer model Bosch jigsaws… 3 years old now I think. It’s got a lever… you release it so you can set the bevel of the table… and then lock it back down. It doesn’t lock back down tightly anymore. It’s a simple mechanism… the lever just tightens a bolt down. But I can’t figure out how to get at that bolt to adjust the tension on this thing. Which makes me wonder how it could have loosened up in the first place? I mean… it’s a captured bolt?!?!?!
Anyone else run into this probelm?

An old table saw has the lock down handle that is connected to the other end of the fence. With it unlocked you can turn the handle (or the nut on the other end) and tighten the tension.
How bout that lever, when released can you rotate it?
Have never seen the jig saw but this popped in my mind upon reading your post.
best of luck.

That sounds like the system the fence on my Ridgid table saw uses Cal... but....sadly.... not my Bosch jigsaw. :(

How do you remove the thing? Maybe a look see from the other side?
Do they bother to put a parts blowup in the manual anymore?
I'll put a postit note on the dash to ask my tool supplier, he might have solved the problem a few times.A Great Place for Information, Comraderie, and a Sucker Punch.

I think there's a thumbwheel under the back of the body, between the body and the footplate. It tightens/loosens the nut. (I think...)
What PaulC said. The thumb wheel on the under side
Thanks! I somehow missed Paul's post. Wow, that's it? So easy a caveman could do it. (Apparently not). Sometimes I can't see the forest through the trees.... and I swear I wasn't just looking for an excuse to buy a new jig saw.View Image
