I’ve researched some of the old threads that concluded for a Therma-Tru door, the wholesaler’s setup of the slab is the most important factor in the ultimate quality of the door. I need an entry door (and maybe more) for my own house and wonder what your up-to-date experience is with local suppliers. I would get my doors either from the Woburn Harvey’s or J&C Adams in Cambridge. I’ve been happy with them in the past, but it’s been years.
I changed careers a while back, and now find that much of my hard-won knowledge of construction suppliers is getting obsolete. Any recommendations on door setups by these two wholesalers? From the previous discussions, it seems like the Classic Craft may be the way to go. Any warnings about having them set a slab up as an outswinger?
Lisa
PS. All through February I felt wicked lucky that I work indoors now; today there’s a little regret that I wasn’t out framing in the soft spring sunshine……

Hi Lisa,
It's been a few years for me too but I used to have good luck with JC Adams and also at McLeod and Moynihan, aka Sterritt Lumber in Watertown. They are a full service lumberyard but have their own door shop and the quality was good.
