I used to go on a regular basis. The trend I'm seeing, is more very high end vendors vs the regular craftsman who used to attend the show. I liked the mix of regular craftsman better. Vendors showing at the show has dropped also. Friend of mine considered exhibiting, but the $2000 for a 5x10 space cost was a negative (show used to cost $1000 for the same space). Supposedly there's a "historic home show" in April out in Sturbridge, MA that's being touted.Otis
You think the doubling of the exhibit pricing is the reason for the declining foot traffic as the lack of variety in vendors has affected the interest?

Talked to some people who used to exhibit at the show, and the increased price was one reason for not showing up again. Years ago, the show was much bigger. I attended last year, and it was smaller, and from what I saw, attendance was down also. When you consider a regular "home show"
charges anywhere from $700 - $1500 for a space in comparison. There used to be some decent home restoration vendors at the show years ago like Colonial Restorations, Renaissance Restorations, Antique Homes Magazine, Renaissance Lighting, Whitman Castings, Victorian House Restoration, and a few others. They've all not been at the show in the past few years. As I was saying, the path the show has taken appeals to the elite crowd. And I can't figure out what American Express and the Boston Globe are doing there, apart from trying to solicit business.Otis

I went to the show and was very disappointed.
Same reasons as Otis I take it?

That's right. Not very big and mostly high end venders. Not the kind of stuff I'm interested in for my apartments.
I did buy a reproduction of an old ward map that I'm planing on hanging in the entry of one building of mine. His booth, unlike many others, was very busy. I was there on Friday and then again on Saturday to pick up my map. It looked like some of the venders had already left.
This show looks interesting next weekend in Sturbdidge, MA. http://www.goodrichpromotions.com/ne_historic/index.html
Sounds like the death of it .
