I’m hoping someone might have an answer for me. I put down a laminate floor about 4 years ago, and last summer (2000) noticed a little bowing in one spot. That has since spread to a 2nd place , in this roughly 16 x 22 foot master bedroom. I had left the necessary space around the circumfrence, as called for in the installation process, but obviously have this current situation to deal with now. I’d sure appreciate any advice someone might be able to give, as well as insight into what might be going on. thanx [email protected]

How high is it bowed?
What is the manufacturer?
Is the room below heated?
Gabe
*sounds like moisture or expansion related.when originally installed, was the footages above the tolerence for no expansion in the field ?Some laminates require an expansion in the field when a certain amount of footage or run is installed.Check with the manufacturer or have the flooring independently inspected.good luck
*Is this bowing area near the bathroom?
*Bowed about 0.75 - 1.25 " in 2 different spots, this floor sits on a plywood subfloor I put down , over the concrete slab the house sets on. The manufacturer was Home Depot's original floors, they sold before Pergo came in. Hence, it was a good deal when they did the old closeout !
