Brand of Metal Roofing and Installation?
With a 14yr old Elk shingle roof to be replaced, I’m considering going back with metal.
I understand that tear-off will cost $25 a sq. and if I were to go back with Elk 30yr. Sculp. Shingles, they are installed for about $135 sq. on a low pitch ranchstyle roof.
What Residential brands of metal roofing have been good for you? What things should I look for in the roofer’s contract?
Thanks so much for the positive support and information.

Someone will be along to argue with me, but I would stay away from exposed fastners and polyester finishes. Go with a kynar finish.
Most roofers that do metal frequently have their own pan forming machines. Get lots of references. I've torn off and replaced lots of botched metal jobs.

But you all knew that. I detailed it extensively in my blog.

Thanks to all of you fellows. I'm on quite a learning curve!!
Would you use a radiant barrier by using 1/2" Koolply or Norseboard? The low pitch of the current roof, along with loose rockwool insulation, makes putting any radiant barrier added to the attic side just plain murder.
You experience and comments helps.
