…am I creating one for termites? or any other wood craving critter?
I need to restack about 6K#’s of concrete retaining wall blocks…my last storage setup didn’t last as long as I wanted. I have a 6′ beefy pallet that I want to stack them on, but I don’t want to set the pallet directly on the ground. If I use some left over 2×12’s under the pallet and treat them heavily with a toxic pesticide, will I still create a breeding frenzy for any wood munchers?. Winters almost here, so I’m guessing that there will be no problem at least until next spring/summer?
I don’t care if the 2×12’s rot, I just want to keep the pallet and blocks elevated off the ground.

Put the blocks on the bottom.
The termites won't climb 6000 pounds of blocks just to eat a pallet.

Logical answer, but not for me. The blocks are 80#'s each and will sink and then get all mucked up. They're sitting on about 15' of fill and spreading the load by using a pallet will lesson the chance of sinking and/or falling over.
Time will tell...I went ahead and did it last night and if it still causes a bug bonanza, I'll just have to deal with it I guess.
borax.. put it down first should give you a few years termite free

That's what I used. If it last for a few yrs, then I'm golden.
Thanks
