Looking for info. on wood frame walls over brick foundation, or similar details. The wall will be a standard 10″ thick pour, with a 4″ brick ledge. The idea is to create a brick foundation look, similar to an older home. I think I’ve got the right techniques down, but am looking for any info. on this, perhaps someone has done this? This is a S.E. Michigan job.
Thanks all-

J.R....2x12 p.t. sill plate, box framed to within 1/2" of brick face(exterior sheathing should flush out with brick).Start framing ,siding should lap over brick 1" or so.
*Jerry,I'm assuming with this technique you are not using the brick for bearing? It sounds like the 2x12 plate cantilevers over the brick, so with a 6" bearing area for the plate, that leaves 5 1/4" for framing, depending on how you position the sill plate? the area(s) I'm concerned with is the garage walls, and I have a stair along a wall (which is a gable end, 1 1/2 story design. I guess I'm alittle fuzzy on the box framing. Thanks for responding.
