I have an existing, one car attached garage that is concrete block with a brick veneer. Every 5 courses or so of brick, there is a layer of brick between the block to tie them together. On top of the garage is a poured concrete floor, and then a two wythe brick wall above that, forming a sun room or covered porch. The house was built in 1944.
The prior owner didn’t maintain the lintel over the garage door, and it has rusted, causing the face of brick above it to bow. As a result, the brick have cracked on the outside corner of that wall, and the brick is bowing out slightly. I need to replace the lintel and repair the brick.
Any suggestions on how to repair this?
Thanks.
