Hi All,
I’m about to install a 36″ exterior door in our garage. I’m a little unsure how the brickmold on the door and the exterior viny meet on the outside. It looks to me as if the brickmold has to come off and a “L” shaped channel covers the vinyl and is mitered at the headjam. Is this the way to go??
Thanks,
Dave

If you have access to a brake there are several ways to approach this.
The most common is to nail "J" channel around the brick mould then wrap aluminum coil over both and return under the J.
Or you could wrap the brick mould alone, returning along the wall, then run your J around that.
