Hi,
I watched a British DIY show yesterday and it showed a guy getting an old scratched up tub buffed and polished with a regular small disc sander with I guess different grit sanding discs. That thing can out beautiful, like new. Anybody know anything about this type of refinishing? Sure seems a lot easier than having the tub resurfaced.

Well, I used a 3M kit to polish my headlight lenses to a shine a couple of months back. Basically just very fine sandpaper, followed by buffing with a polishing compound. Of course that was plastic vs the ceramic on a tub, but same principle.
But the ceramic coating on a tub is sufficiently thin that there's some risk of rubbing it through. Might be worth a shot, though, if the only other option is refinishing. (Though there is another option -- one of those tub-liner "skins" that fits over the tub.)
