Please does anybody have diagram/drawing of how to make a volute.
Or a reference to any article in fine homebuilding on making one.
Thanks

I remember an article in FHB a long time ago but don't recall the issue. Any reason why a stock volute won't work?
How to draw one? Picture, say, a spool of thread. Stand it on end, and tie the end of the thread around a pencil... the shape that the pencil draws as you unwind it would be a volute.
The key is the diameter of the spool that you start with....I'm sure there are standard formulas. I just don't remember them, those classes were way too long ago.
