Building Classes and Education (Yestermorrow)
Looking into attending some courses this year on building science, green building, etc (not sure exactly which). Anyone here have any experience with Yestermorrow or any other establishments that offer courses in building? I am looking to add some formal education to what I have learned in the field over the years and maybe get some kind of certifications from the courses. I feel like certifications (although maybe a little superficial) may help add credibility and professionalism to my credentials with potential clients. Any thoughts?

I've not attended a Yestermorrow course but I know right where the facility is between Warren and Waitsfield Vermont. Beautiful area both winter and summer. I've been thinking of signing up for something there. The list of courses is certainly extensive. We've got a little place about three or four miles away at Sugarbush which we rent out if you're interested.
HBA has classes. Will discuss more if you are interested. Not much time right now.

'Riversong' (Robert Riversong), who has spent some time posting here (seasonally) runs Yestermorrow, I believe -
based on the tenor of his threads, he doesn't suffer fools gladly - and also doesn't suffer any debate about his opinions/methods -
If you will type 'Yestermorrow' in the search box in the upper right, there are several hits -

I'm biased because I am the ED at Yestermorrow, but the courses here are definitely a great way to supplement what you've learned on the job and through professional practice over the years. We offer three certification programs- sustainable building and design, natural building, and woodworking. All are designed for adult learners with a career-building focus.
Robert Riversong, one of the frequent posters here, is on our faculty but he does not run the school. You can check out the over 150 courses a year that we offer at http://www.yestermorrow.org.
