My son and I went to a new business establishment last night and I think this type of business has a lot of potential.
Maybe it would be an opportunity for someone if your city does not have one of these.
It was kind of an indoor amusement park. We went there to go bowling.
I had never been there before.
Once inside we could see it was a large facility with bowling, pool, and video game arcade. All brand new.
They had special bowling lanes for laser light show and black lights.
Outside they have a golf driving range.
They also had an indoor go kart track. The go karts were fast and they were ELECTRIC and ran on battery power. It was a large track.
After bowling we took a spin with the go karts. Ticket price was $5.00 per person and these were adult size go karts.
This place will be busy year round and I think they’ll be successful.

Throw in some lazer tag and I'm there....
With my mouth I will give great thanks to the Lord; I will praise Him in the midst of the throng. For He stands at the right hand of the needy, to save them from those who would condemn them to death.

How's about this?

I'm not sure I'd consider "Battle in a Cage" (whatever that actually is) family entertainment.

Come on! You're from Ohio!
These aren't terribly uncommon. That said, I'm not sure they're get-rich-quick businesses either. We have a few indoor lazer tag/mini-golf/arcades in malls around here.
In the winter climates, I've been thinking a business that would be great to have access to would be simply an indoor park. Kind of an 'open gym' type of set up for $x an hour. There are a lot of big empty Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Best-Buy and the like shells out there that could easily be converted into large indoor playspaces for kids in the winter.
I believe we have an indoor go-kart track around here that is just an old kmart. We need to start recycling these big 'ghost stores'.
Interesting idea you have.Additionally if the facility you're describing was close to an interstate highway I think people traveling would stop there. You know what it's like when you're traveling with kids in the car and you would like to stop and let them get some exercise and get them out of the car for an hour. Maybe even burn off some of their energy.^^^^^^

Around here where it's not uncommon to have snow 7 or 8 months of the year we have an indoor Water Park.
It was the best idea ever and it looks like it is always very busy. It also has an arcade, lazer tag, connected to two hotels with indoor walkways.

Haha, thanks for the comment. I thought it was kinda funny myself, but you're the first to comment on it in the couple of months I've had it up.
Not a lawyer, I'm a builder. I'm just too used to always trying to cover my butt. Everyone loves the "Liability" word.

This place is great.
expensive for a family of six!
I was at one of those this past weekend in Syracuse for my wifes aunts 60th birthday party. No go karts but they had a bowling alley, indoor golf, a basketball court, weight room and some other stuff. And a pretty nice bar and restaurant. I'd love to find a place like that here.
Who dares, wins.
