I am currently in the market for a new (or used, I don’t care) table saw, and have been searching the classifieds, reading the catalogs (Tool Crib), and also hunting around on-line. I like the Grizzly saws, since they seem to have some good features at really good prices, but I am bumming about buying stuff made by cheap third world labor, although I could probably get over that given a good enough bargain. I am thinking of either the entry level contractor saw (somethingZ) or maybe bucking up to the entry level Cabinet saw (only 755 bucks delivered).
My questions are:
Will these taiwan saws (which all seem to be pretty much the same, no matter the manufacturer) be a lasting investment?
I am really considering paying the extra for the 1023 cabinet saw. Would paying the same price for a Delta contractor saw w/a Biesenmeyer be a better investment?
Of course, an old Delta-Rockwell in decent shape may be better.
As you can see, a little direction would go a long way.
