i leave 24 for the dishwasher and 30 1/2 for the stove. dont forget about the countertop doubleups, they sometimes overhang the base cabs.

Oven I leave 30 3/8.
24 1/8 for regular dishwasher, if it is a Bosch with a front panel, I leave 24 3/8.
What's over the range space, and to the left and right? A thirty inch wall cabinet which will have a hood? If you cheat your range space more, be prepared to shave a little off the base cabinets when you get to a tall pantry cabinet, or reefer cabinet.
Can't say fer sure whithout looking at your layout.

I hope I covered yours. If you can't find something, let me know, because I probably have an up to date cutsheet.
I build to the minimum width opening specified and then hope the appliance isn't bulged in the middle, as were two of three GE Monogram, free standing ranges on one job.Be careful with GE, especially their Profile line, because they don't all have complete dimensions on their cutsheets.

Appliances are sized to fit 24" at the dishwasher and 30" at the range. Over the range cabinets are 30", if you want to add 1/8" how would it be done? Add 1/8" filler to a side or two 1/16", I don't think so. A 30" range hood measures 30". With the wide choice of appliances available, it's always best to have them on site and double check the size. You can't arbitrarily add space without effecting the entire layout. The biggest problems I face with appliances is the height of the refrigerator space and the projection of handles on the range. With manufactured face frame cabinets, the stiles project beyond the cabinet 1/8" - 1/4". If the range is too tight, you can shave the stiles but this is very rare, same with dishwashers.

Quite correct. You "juggle" the bases, instead. You just scribe the difference out of the ends, either the fillers or from the facreframe scribes. The 1/8 or 1/4 difference almost never shows in bases to uppers. But a gap between the hood and the adjacent uppers sure will.
It helps to lay out such things in advance, as you quite correctly point out. Particularly when the new replacement range is a drop in that wants 30 1/8 frame to frame, but needs 30 1/2" end panel to end panel, and a 2 1/8 strip of countertop across the back (don't ask me how I know <tired sigh>).Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
As you know Capn, there can be all kinds of things to think about when you are assembling a bunch of cabinets in a row. One of the weird things about manufactured cabinets is that they are individual units with a lot of fillers, bump ups, bump outs, drop ins, over mounts, undermounts, the list goes on. At one time appliances were very much standard in size. To a large extent, most still are, but there are always exceptions. I recently had a wall oven unit that required 24" deep inside the wall cabinet. Of course the wall cabinet was 24" overall and only 23" deep from face frame to back. The most frequent thing I've seen lately is the top hinge of the refrigerator interfering with the cabinet door above. They are packing electrical lines in the hinge cover and they stand taller than in the past. Face frames are smaller and the overlay on doors is larger. It sounded like the original poster was talking standard sizes. If the print calls for 30", you don't want to exceed that by more than 1/16". Jiggling a layout can cause other problems and you likely, didn't need to do it in the first place.Beat it to fit / Paint it to match

LoL! Depends on the layout . . .
Said having spent close to a half decade drawing noting but millwork layouts and details for same. Ah, the joys of semi-custom . . . Very few learning experiences like reading 5-7 sets of kitchen & bath plans a day for 5-6 years (other than going out installing from the 'cartoon' you drew <g> . . . )Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)

Personally, I like 24 1/4" exact for the DW, the gap is not too bad, and it helps fit without dinging the finish of the end or of the stiles. With frameless, you can go down to 24 1/8" exact, but you had best check the door swings, some of the 110º hinges will rub a DW that installs flush to the countertop instead of flush to cabinet/cab door front.

Depends on the range. Most, you need to check the installation destructions. A "plain" slide in seems best at 30 1/2" frame to frame (finish the ends, or put some rustoleum stove black on).
The slide-in models need differing clearances (from 30" exact to 30 3/8", IIRC) and differing depths of countertop behind. The drop-ins are awhole 'nuther set of rules, and last year's model (now on sale at a discount at the appliance store) are different than this year's . . . sometimes.
I'd be fired and/or never hired back if I left those big holes!
tight is better ...
and for euro-applicances ... get the cut sheet or call direct. They're all smaller ... and goofy sizes ... as far as dishwasher ... wine coolers ... freezer drawers and ice makes go. When people pay for "build in" ... they want tight built ins.

hmmmmm; that's exactly what I was thinking!
Oh, and about the appliances; a 30" range fits in a 30" hole; a 24" dw fits in a 24" hole.
Never had a problem yet, not sure why you would try to mess with that.

If you can get the installation instructions for the appliances they should give you the necessary dimensions. Even better would be to actually measure them. Generally speaking, dishwashers are slightly under 24" (23-7/8") and stoves are slightly under 30".
Another very important dimension is the height of the dishwasher opening above the finished floor. If this is too small, the dishwasher installer is gonna come looking for you and he ain't gonna be a happy camper. - lol
