Hello, nI am a builder Builder/Contractor and have been looking for about a month at Softplan and have recently been looking at Sigma Builders Cad for design Build software. Softplan Has a strong following, but after receiving demo disks from both companies Builders Cad seem to be the better software. Can anyone help me out with this. Thanks

Dan Dear (geez, do I sound like your wife?)
I am a Sigma ARRIS user (full-feature CAD for architects) and have been since 1984 - really the precursor to the more-recently developed Builders CAD.
Sigma has a small but very loyal following since its software is excellent. I've recommended it here before, but Builder's CAD is in an intermediate range of cost as I recall (not cheap).
Hope that helps.
Jeff
*Softplan.Buy it you'll like it.If not rturn it for a full refund.
*When I was shopping, I was impressed with Arris but it was twice the price of SP which I bought, learned easily and am very happy with. Can't beat their tech support policy. You always get someone in developement who knows the program well with very little waiting. For life.
*What are the prices concerning both Softplan and Builders CAD?How about some "pros vs cons" on them.I too am in need of a "decent" cad program. (For me, it must be easy to learn and simply have good basic graphics....I am a beginner in knowing how to use cad. I want something that will enable me to draw sketches of different roof designs, outdoor deck layouts, etc. I am more concerned about using cad for simple design lines of things than I am about a full line of graphics stored in its library memory.Would either of these 2 programs be good for a novice beginner like me, or should I go with something less advanced? Any suggestions?Davo.
