I use a "cad" program called 3D Home Architect Deluxe by Broderbund (about $45 at software stores). It is a Harry Homeowner version of the more professional program, Chief Architect, and has about 75% of the capabilities for less than 10% of the price. In my 18 years of using PC software, it is by far the easiest and quickest to learn and provides the greatest bang for the buck.
But like another responder, I too love Generic Cadd but it is, to the best of my knowledge, no longer available. Generic Cadd was so good that AutoDesk (Autocad etc.) bought them and phased out the program.
