We are considering slate flooring (with radiant heat below) for a planned mudroom with attached bathroom and laundry room (not slate).. this room will have an entry door from the backyard where the pool is located.. Anyone have a view on whether slate will be slippery when wet/if wet, and if we should consider another surface? we like the look of slate and believe that it’s durable…

They make signs that say, "SLIPPERY WHEN WET" that would be very appropriate if you use slate

Obviously any surface will be slippery when wet. A cleft slate will be less slippery than most ceramic tiles, and or even wood. I have used slate in entrances and kitchens. If you are looking for a slip resistant material, a textured rubber flooring with raised dots for example, would be a good choice.
If you're worried about slip resistence, take a look at this:

Used it in my bathroom and it's performed flawlessly for the last 5 years. Cheap. No maintenance. No slip. No worries.
I had considered rubberized flooring as a safer option, but was hoping for a more finished look than I was able to find using rubber.. appreciate the feedback from you and the others
BTW, I used Vermont green slate with electric radiant heat in my own house, and it is fine for slip resistancy.
