Can vinyl windows be painted? I got a quote from a Seattle-area big box store on some Milquard Tuscany windows. This is for a cabin long in the wife’s family. One requirement is that the windows can’t be white on the exterior. Two of the bigbox window guys say you can paint vinyl as long as you have the correct surface prep and primer. I’m not convinced. Would really like to avoid stepping up in price point for fiberglass or wood windows.

Work with a reliable paint store to pick suitable paint & prep.
yes
.
You can also get vinyl in colors other than white. I've got pebble grey windows in my cabin.
I've found vinyl windows other than white. But what I didn't mention was that we have the exterior grid in order to make it look like old indiviual panes. A quote we got from another manufacturer that has several colors is that they don't offer colors in windows with grids.
I'm sure it varies by manufacturer. The ones I have have grids between the panes, same color as the window.
