can we brag on a supplier by name (HDT)?
i ordered a dewalt 705s compound miter saw from heavy duty tools back before christmas, when they were running a great sale. they charged my credit card $203, then apparently ran out. after a couple of emails, they offered to ship the bosch 3915 scms for the same price. their price on the Bosch is about twice that of the dewalt. i like their way of taking care of their customers.
maybe they broke even on this deal, or maybe they lost a buck. but they’ll get more of my business, and i’ll brag about them every chance i get.

DW and I took them a big pot of chili and jalapeno muffins last week. They are really great folks. I do not know anyone who will bend over farther to do you right.
Wes and Roger inhaled the chili :) Between the chili, ham, and all the homemade candy in the last few weeks I am about to explode !
Are they a local co. or a chain mail order?...........
My brother lives in Houma--
- if there are local I will give him my list but I think my own brothers' mark-up might be a bit high.
I think vendors that take care of you like that deserve all the business you can funnel their way. Do they have a website?

heavydutytools.neti learned about them on this board. i think this is my third order in the last 90 days, and i am very impressed with the price and the service
See my reply to Nuke. As I have said before, I have no connection other that being a happy customer and consider them friends.
Edited to add they are located in Marion, NC just off I-40 about 80 west of Charlotte and 35 east of Asheville.

Is this the place? http://www.heavydutytools.net/Scripts/default.asp
yep, that's the one nuke.
That's them. They are about 10 miles from my house. I have posted about them several times. The company is a family owned and operated small business. The founder, Earl Strickland was one of my dear departed father-in-law's students (later life career change) at the local community college who after getting his electrical license started a contracting company. Started stocking elect. supplies and then plumbing. Got out of the active install stuff and went full time with this part of business.
Earl is still very active, and his two sons, Mark (who pretty much runs the HDT part), Wes, daughter Vicki, son-in-law Roger (married to the other daughter), and Earl's wife are the only employees. They are all great to work with.
