Can you help me reference an issue???

| Posted in General Discussion on November 25, 2003 04:12am

Hello to all,

There was a Fine Homebuilding article, written as an open letter from a builder to his clients upon receiving their new home ( I believe) which discussed some of the things that would both “break-in” and reveal themselves as the house began its age in infancy, et. al…

Darned if I can’t find it in my library.!  Anybody know what # issue it was?  The indexes can’t help me if I don’t know what to call this thing I just described…any help would be great.

Thank you,

Hunts.

I remember the article you speek of   but I cant remember the heading for it. was it in the builders library or just a back isue? can you remember about what year it was?

      It was a back issue.

I went ahead that same evening I wrote the post and looked through many issues, I set a goal for myself that it just had to be after the resize of the magazine...in other words, after it went to the smaller mag.  I was looking through the tables of contents of them all, and I still didn't find it....some thing about a letter to the new owners or some such...I really like to get to that again...

I don't think it was that long ago.  They changed size...when...around issue 100?  I think that article you are talking about was just 4 or 5 years ago - guy talked about drywall cracking and such?  That he'd like to give the house a year for certain common problems?  Is that the one?

          Here it is, hunts - issue 126, November '99, pages 112 + 113.

            Four years ago?!?!?!

Doesn't seem like it was that long ago. Time sure does fly anymore...

You ain't a kiddin', brotherman.  When I was younger I clearly remember older folks saying "the older you get, the faster it goes".  They were right (as usual).

Was that Janis Ian who sang "...soon you'll drag your feet, to slow the circles down."

"the older you get, the faster it goes".

and AC says...."the older you get, the slower you heal"!

you all notice that? Not that it matters..just throwing that in for the yungin' to have sumpin' to look forward to : )

edit:Told that to Katrina yesterday and she said she doesn't know cause she doesn't bang herself up.....oh, yeh....playing tennis and real estate.......she asked why I'm not more careful...bwahahahahahaha....maybe she thinks I'm secretly a librarian and not a carpenter ; )

            BE WELL

Most excellent Jim!  No wonder I couldn't find it, # 126 wasn't on the "immediate" shelf with all the others.  Now the house will be turned upside down in order to find it.  Thanks all for the attention.

            Most Sincerely, Hunts
