Howdy!
Need some help identifying and possibly replacing this part. This is from a steel french patio door, manufacturer unknown. These plastic “wedges” (for lack of a better term) serve as a backing to which the strike plate is screwed. There is no stand-alone T-astragal on the door; it’s integral with the inactive panel. Numerous google searches and the closest thing I can find is an ad on ebay.uk for “strike plate wedges”, but those are a window part. Any and all help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

You could fairly easily machine a replacement from a chunk of AL.
Aluminum would be ideal
but it could probably be made more easily from a dense weather-resistant wood like oak, mahogany or ipe. I would buy enough length to safely work one end with power tools and then cut it to length.
I would first make sure the missing part did not have extra clip or something so it does not fall into the door when the strikeplate is removed.
Can some anchors or one of those clip on screw nut help?
